Who We Are

The Martins Ferry Romanian Mission is an international ministry directly under the leadership of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, Ohio. As a ministry under the eldership of an independent, locally autonomous church, we are not affiliated with any denomination or missions agency.

Ryan Kasler, Director of Romanian Mission
Ryan Kasler directs the mission's day to day affairs and is serving as onsite missionary in Arad and Ghioroc, Romania. He is a 1999 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 2004 graduate of Kentucky Christian College (now Kentucky Christian University) of Grayson, Kentucky. Ryan first became interested in Romania in 1996, and has been involved in mission work there since 1998, having been a full-time missionary since July of 2002. Terry H. Erwin, Jr., Financial Director
Terry Erwin handles all of our finances on the US side. He makes deposits, pays bills, prepares receipts, records donations and expenses, and prepares documentation for those wishing to declare charitable donations to the IRS. Terry is currently serving as preaching minister at the Norwin Christian Church of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. He is a 1985 graduate of Cincinnati Bible College (now Cincinnati Christian University) and also holds a Masters of Ministry degree from Kentucky Christian College (now Kentucky Christian University). He has had successful ministries in churches in both Ohio and western Pennsylvania. You can contact Terry at Terry@norwinchristianchurch.com

Cristian Lunga, Director of Romanian Foundation
Cristian Lunga, or Cristi for short, directs the Romanian Foundation through which we are able to operate legally within the country. He keeps track of all the new laws and regulations within Romania concerning our ministry there. He also acts as our primary liaison with the Romanian government, and keeps things going when Ryan is in the states. Cristi has been been involved with the Arad church since 1998, and is a leader in the church there. He is married to a lovely woman name Zsuzsana, and has a son named Mark. Although our ministry is overseen by the elders at Martins Ferry FCC, there
are a number of other churches involved in our work. Without the regular
support of these churches we would not be able to continue our mission in Romania.
